Default 235/75 tires on stock jimmy

first of all, its not technically a blazer i know, but im looking into new wheels and tires.i have my mind set on american racing ar 767 wheels. however any website that has the "model search" feature for tires shows that my truck takes 205/75r15 tires. if iput on 235/75 bfg all terrain tires, would it cause any sort of problem as far as rubbing or anything? also its a 984x4 4door if that makes a difference(p.s.its my first car so i have no idea about this stuff so bear with me)

youll be fine with that tire size, the only problem youll run into is with your speedo. since your putting on a larger tire your speedo will read slower than your actually going.

You can have the speedo recalibrated for about 100 bucks I believe. But yes the tires will be fine, I wonder why they think 205's are spec on a 98?

the 205's were avalible on 2wd's, but his being a 4wd im not sure who put 205's on i always thought the 4wd's had either 235/70 or 235/75

Yeah, when I bought my 95 Jimmy in Feb. it had 205 70's on. While up north I put 235 75 winter tires on. And they have great tread. As good as any offroading tires. The tag on the inside of the driver door should list the recommended tires.

as far as 2x4 and 4x4. The Jimmy is 4x4. But my old 98 was a 2x4 and it had 235's. Looks like a lot of the S10's have 205's though.

I have a question about the rims, are they 15''? if you're going bigger you may want a lower series tire, If you have 16" rims with a 75series, it'll be bigger than 15' rims with 75 series, you'll want to maintain your OEM diameter if you don't want to get a speedo re-cal.

Here's a great tire calculator I found (even tells you how much your speedo will be off by)... I'm guessing you know how to read a tire code, if not Google is your friend here, it's not too complicated.
