Talking 265/70/17 on Camaro SS rims

I just got 265/70/17's mounted on 17x9" 2002 Camaro SS rims. It's not a simple slap 'em on and go scenario, but I think the end result is worth it. They look awesome! I posted up a full writeup in my Build Thread over here, but here's a few pics:

To do this I have 1.5" T-bar lift, 2" AAL in the rear, a 2" PA body lift, ZR2 rear axle, and 1.25" front wheel spacers. The toughest part with these rims is they have 6.8" backspacing, hence the need for the spacers on the front.

You have a close up of the front wheels. Specifically the back of the front wheel well. Those look like they are extremely close to rubbing. If you took a bump or turn fast that they would rub, but I could be wrong. I'm glad someone finally got those to work. I powdercoated mine black then sold them because no worky. I would rub frame and didn't want to run spacers.

Yeah, the back of the front fender is pretty close. I have about 3/4"-1" space not compressed when turning right now, and am going to take steps in the next couple of days to get at least another 1" at the back of the front fender. I haven't cut anything yet but I will this week if I can't massage it back a little more.

Definitely going to trim some off just to make sure I don't have to worry about touching anywhere. I haven't rubbed anywhere yet but I really don't want to worry about it.

As usual I'm now going to spend a couple of hours assembling a series of pages of research to make sure that I know exactly what I'm doing. Thanks to all you guys who have gone before and shown the way!

Skidz Cut-out Flares

here's the link to how we trimmed my buddies blazer. Worked out really well, only downside is it will need paint after, unless you are planning using bedliner on the bodyline down then it's not an issue.

lol sorry, not my writeup. Done by henryj I believe. I think he's on the crewcab or s10 forums and probably some others.

We just did the fronts like he did. In the rear we just trimmed some of the plastic away and that was enough room. Here's the link with his.
