Default 2WD Tires/wheels- let's make it easy!

Hey all- I'm brand new to the forum, but I HAVE searched this topic and done a fair amount of reading. I don't know enough about Gen this and XYZ wheel that, so I'm posting a few pics to try and make it easier for me.

So, here's the question. I recently purchased an '01 2WD 4-door LS model. It has 235/70/15s on some God-awful rims (aftermarket). I've always LOVED the look of the IROC wheels on the older (square) S-10 trucks/Blazers, so of course would like to do something like that with mine. I have no plans to alter the ride height, but would like to go to a 16" wheel to fill the well a little better. I know nothing about backspacing, so of the wheels posted below, if you know, please tell me which would bolt right to my truck, what tire sizes would work, and whether or not spacers would be needed. Hope that makes it easier for me! Thanks!

Wheel A

Wheel B

Wheel C

I'm not sure if two of those are the same size/etc. or not.

Thanks for the help!

I've seen people running all 3 options but I would say B or C would looks best and would fit.

Wheel B and Wheel C are the same.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

^ A good resource for figuring out what size tire you can run that will be the closest to stock.

235/65/16 (if they make it) would be pretty darn close. Or if you want to go wider you can do 245/60/16 (again if someone makes a tire in that size).

I believe both of those Camaro wheels are 16x8 but don't quote me on that. You can run them straight up on 4wd but you will need spacers for 2wd. How much of a spacer I'm not sure, because it depends on the backspacing and offset of the donor wheels.

I have a set of 17x8 '00-'02 Camaro SS/Z28 rims that I will be putting either 245/65/17's or 255/65/17's on which brings me to almost a 30 in tire. Of course being 4wd I have a little wiggle room for height.

Hope it wasn't too confusing.

Alrighty, for 2WD wheel A won't fit without a set of 2 1/4 spacers due to the backspacing being 6.87", while youre tsock rims are 4.75". The spacer needed can be found here http://www.vbandp.com/detail.aspx?ID=175 but run $180 a pair.

Wheel B, if its 15x7 will fit perfectly, no modification needed.

16x8 is the size for wheel C and possibly wheel B (in 1989 the style of wheel B was offered in 15x7 as wellas 16x8). For 16x8 3rd gen rims, the rear backspacing is 5.25, meaning you would need a 1/2" spacer on the rears.

For the style that I have, which is the most common style from the 82-90 Camaros, it is a 15x7 rim, with 4.75" of backspacing, which means it will bolt on perfect to 2WD models. No spacers needed. You will need the Camaro style lugnuts to run any of the 3rd generation Camaro rims. Here is a pic of the style of rim I have on mine.

Thanks for the info guys! I just came across something else now- 2010 Camaro Rally wheels- they're 18x7.5, running 245/55/18 tires. They're not a flat-faced rim (all offset in the rear)- if they're only 7.5" wide, I'd guess they're 4" or so backspace. The tire circumference is almost IDENTICAL to the 235/70/15 tire I already have- think these would bolt right up?

Thanks!

Alright. The bolt pattern on the 5th gen camaro is 5x120mm. The s series bolt pattern is 5x120.65mm. It is .65 millimeters smaller in the bolt circle. Some people don't like the thought of the extra stress on the lug nut posts. Some members run this size bolt pattern on thier blazers and report no problems.

Not sure on backspace and such. IMHO those black steel rallys are fugly as hell. But to each there own and might look better on a blazer.

I started another thread, but thought I'd throw the pic in here too in case anyone was interested. This is how it turned out with the '10 Camaro 18" Rallys with 1.25" spacers. Stock height. Rubs frame and sway bar at almost full lock, but that seems to be it.

Huh, that looks better than I thought it would. I'm really surprised.
