Default 31 inch Tires

Would a set of 31 in tires fit on my stock 2000 4wd blazer?

A 31" tire will not fit if you want to keep your original "BLAZER" spare tire cover. Chevrolet only made two sizes of spare tire covers and they were for a P205 (27") and a P235 (29") tire.

Will your ABS brakes be effected by a abnormal tire size? Better check on that. I don't have any idea.

30's will fit at stock height. As for Duntov's comment what original "Blazer" cover are you talking about? If you're talking about the wheel cover for the select blazers that came with the spare mounted on the tail then it wouldn't matter if he can reuse that. Most Blazers I've seenwhere I livedon't even have that cover.

If I felt like it, I would get my cameara out and display a Blazer with the original GM spare tirecover . But likeyou said, it "it wouldn'tmatter" because most Blazer ownershave never seen one.

Anyway, if anyone has a Blazer that they want to maintain original or restore, keep in mind thatyou cannotputan original GM spare tire cover designed for a P235(29") tire or larger and you will never get a tire cover designed for a P205 (27") tire on alargertire. I suppose this should be moved to RESTORATION and taken out of modified.

as long as you have 4 tires the same diameter it wont affect your ABS.

I have the original tire cover in my '93. Pain in the butt to put on and take off, but I have it.

My "Blazer" tire cover is for a P235/75R15 (29") tire and it is very tight fit. It is a tight fit and there are no wrinkles in the cover and thatis how as it should be. That is the size tire which isrecommended on the passenger door jamb decal for a'91 Blazer with 4x4. The 2-door with 2WD usesP205/75R15 tires and came witha spare tire cover for a 27" tire.

The tight fitand the difficulty installing those tire covers is why most originals got tossed in a couple of years andare relatively rare today. The tire covers you can buy at a Chevrolet dealershipdoes not have the "Blazer" logo on them and they cost $150 MSRP.They are exactly the sametire coveryou can buy at Pep Boyz (or equal) for $30. While browsing through aautomotive swap meet five years ago, I found and purchaseda NOSspare tire cover with the correct "Blazer" logo on it for $50. I wanted to use it as an extracoverbut I leter found out it wasfor a 27" tire. That 27" tire cover was probably a dealership "take-off"or a tire coverthe dealership ordered for a customer and was found to be thewrong size.

A word of caution when buying so called "NOS" parts. There is something wrong with them 80% of the time. I found that outafter 20 years experience in restoring classic cars.
