Recently acquired a set of 5 CJ7 wheels with the end goal of having them on my 04 Chevy Blazer that I have had for the last few months after a deer loved my previous vehicle.
The wheels were quite the steal for $125 and jumped the gun to get em without lookin too much into it. With my light knowledge about mechanics and understandings of all the small details of wheels..
Just asking for a bit of advice regarding bore size and whatnots regarding wheel adapters, and what would be the best fit without any headaches
From my Googlin' powers, I've gotten that I need a 5x4.75 to 5x5.5 adapter, preferring inch thick to have a bit of poke.. the stock bore size for 04 blazer is 70.3 and the jeep wheels I assume are late 70's? so going with 108 for bore size...
Gonna attach the pic of the wheels if anyone can help me gauge what year or what these rims actually are
Hate to say this, I really do, but I would put them up for sale and hope to get some of your money back.
well now you have me worried haha, what makes you say this bad news? Thought all I'd need was an adapter of which I have now found, is it regarding something like the offset or the condition of the wheels..? Like I said, i know a pretty miniscule amount regarding wheels and whatnots..
also note, im after the wheels, tires are obv shot to hell, I just got some toyo AT PIII's
I said that due to the condition of the wheels. Rust around the mounting holes is bad juju. The backspacing is also a concern, you will also be rubbing up front with the stock size tires.
This site has lots of good calculators regarding tire sizes and back-spacing to help decide if a swap is possible. Click on More Size Tools to find them all. You might have to search out other sites to get the specs on the backspacing for your original wheels vs, these possible replacements. If the wheels are mounted too far out, the center of the tread will outboard of the bearings, causing extra wear and possible premature failure.
With regard to adapters from one lug-spacing to another, keep in mind that the adapter will move the wheel further out and that could be too extreme for a Blazer depending on the backspacing of the replacement wheels.
