Default Cragar Soft 8 16", will it fit?

Firstly, details: 1998 S10 Blazer LT, 4x4, 4dr

Ok I was wanting to replace my tires with Nitto Terragrapplers but they're only made to fit on a 16" rim minimum and the Blazer has a 15" rim, so I decided this would be a good time to new rims.

The cragar soft 8's I like, but I don't know all the details about what will fit.

I found these and they look they should fit but the backspacing is 2" less than stock and I've read you should really need negative offset with 4x4.

Another thing, I want wider tires than the stock 235's so what's the widest that will fit without rubbing? I searched and found a lot of questions about max height, but not much about max width. I'm thinking 265 would be max.

That type of rim would fit your blazer just make sure you get one with the 5-4.75 bolt pattern. As far as the back spacing if you get one with 0 off set you might have to run some spacers or something there is tons of members that have these rims on their blazer that might be able to help you out more. Also, I'm not sure how wide of tire you can run without rubbing but you might check out this calculator.

If you go over a 3% diameter difference you increase your chance of brake failure.

I think you can get away with 245 or 255 but use the tire calculator, stock height I wouldn't go much taller than 235/75/15's with those rims or you will have rubbing issues unless you wanted to lift your truck

I did do a T-bar crank and added an inch.

I think I'll just go with Pirelli Scorpion ATR's and the 15" soft 8's. Would I have any trouble with 255/75R15? The tire calculator says its a little under 4% size increase.

In terms of fitting I wouldn't think you should have a problem but as i mentioned the bigger you go the more you increase your risk of brake failure so that part is for you to decide.

Ok thanks. I'll just go with high end brake pads whenever they need replacing, possibly performance rotors too.
