Default Need Wheel Help - ZR2

I have done many searches, but just want to verify.

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer ZR2 (2 dr, offroad package)

Current rim size is 15x7, 5-4.75" pattern, 6" backspacing. Tire size 31x10.5. Stock wheels keep leaking even after I took them to the shop.

Want to buy black wheels and 31x10.5 Bridgestone TA KOs.

Will Cragar Soft 8 (15x7, with 4" backspacing) cause an issue? I understnad it will on the reguar blazers, but will it rub on a ZR2? Would I NEED to lift it?

I know the Pro Comp Rock Crawler 52 at 4.5" backspacing would be better, but I like the Cragars.

THANKS!

I would think you should be fine since you are going back with the same size tire. If anything you may clip the corner of your fender flare or you may not.

Plan on hitting the flarelets while turning if you still have them on. If you don't have them you still might have to trim the valance. Also kind of depends what kind of tires you put on. MT's tend to cause more rubbing than AT's for some reason.

i think it has to do with the more "square" tread design.

and the only difference you're having with the soft 8's is the back spacing, which will cause it to stick farther out. which is why there was mention of tire rub on your flares/valance.

I have BFG A/T's on wheels with 4.5" of backspacing on my 2000 ZR2 and had to do a little trimming because they rubbed while turning in reverse. If you crank your t-bars a little, you might not rub, but I don't know for sure. Mine aren't cranked (yet).

Well I got the Cragar Soft 8's with 4.25" back spacing and put 31" BFG TA KOs on them. It is rubbing like a mother. I'm going to have to trip my flares quite drastically. Oddly enough, the right side rubs a LOT less then the left.

Yes. The OP put stock sized tires on and had rubbing. You will have quite a bit more.

ok crazyfor..........

you have a ZR with 2" SL & 2" BL, equalling 6 inches compared to a non-ZR Blazer...............i think Dave (nj4x4blaze) had the 6" Superlift kit with his 33's...didn't they still rub on him? i thought that's why he did the 2" BL as well..........
