Default stock z28 wheels on 4x4

Hey ya'll! I was just wondering if I am crazy or have I seen the old "five star" z28 wheels being used on 4X4 blazers? I have heard that if you use a 2wd wheel on a 4wd, it will cause the wheels to stick out farther due to different backspacing; any truth to this? Will these wheels fit my 2000 blazer? Honestly, I like the looks of these wheels, especially being a stock wheel!

I believe that is true... there is about 2inches of backspacing difference and they will stick out a bit... Now, they should bolt on other than that

The backspacing is different but it won't stick out much and it doesn't look bad. I have 2wd xtreme wheels on mine. The fronts a perfectly in line with the fender and the rears stick out about an inch.

The Z28 wheels are 4.5" BS whereas stock 4X4 wheels are 6" BS so they will stick out 1.5" more than what you currently have.

And, yes, they look very well on Blazers.

What year of Z28 rims are we talking about here? 3rd gen (82-92) and 4th gens (93-02) have the same bolt pattern but different backspacings.

This.

I have 2000-2001 Camaro SS Wheels that are 17x9 and have 7 inches of backspacing. With being 2" wider than stock Blazer wheels but 1" more backspacing, they actually sit only 1" wider than stock.

(I have yet to buy tires).

Also, lastcoupe on here has been running 4th Gen chrome Z28's on BFG's and they look good.

Willjones is running some nice painted 3rd Gen Z28 rims.

Thanks for the pics and all the information ya'll! The 3rd gen. wheels were the ones I was referring to, though all look good! Is $125 a good price for a set that is missing the center caps? They are the only ones I have found locally so far.

This is for the 3rd gen wheels. Didn't even think about 4th gen which are about 6 3/4" BS.

Depending on the shape of the wheels, $125 isn't too bad, though missing the center caps doesn't help.

Yeah $125 is a good price provided they are in good condition. I wanted a set of Iroc rims on my Y2K Firebird so bad.

Did you ever get tires? I have access to a set of these wheels and was thinking of putting them on my 4x4.
Thanks
