Default Tire sizes

I've owned 3 blazers. when I see sales on tires I buy 2-4 and save them when needed as I keep these trucks a long time.

My daughter recently bought a 2000 that requires 235 75 r15 tires. I have a full set of 235 70 r 15 tires I want to give to her. Other than the 1 inch lower tires that I would install on her truck, what issues would I encounter while putting these tires on?

yes the door jamb says 235 75 r15 on it

My 99 Bravada says P235/70/R15, but the guy I bought it from put P235/75/R15's on it. I still have plenty of clearance.
I thought the size difference would throw the Speedo off, so I looked up a size/speed calculator. With the difference, at 45 (common speed on surface streets) I'm doing like 46. At 70 (common interstate speed) I'm doing like 72.3.

you would encounter zero problems with those other than very very small spedo chages. They are both factory tire sizes.

always go by the sticker on the door jamb. on a 4 door blazer it's either 235 70r 15 or 235 75 r 15. never heard of 205's on a blazer. I'd never trust any web site other than the GM recommendation. good luck.

Default Larger Rim Sizes ??

2000 Blazer four door 4x4 LS.

P235 70R15 on all four.

Looking at new tires and all the discounts... Wally World,Costco, Sams, etc ..

All say that 15s are hard to get... not in stock but can be ordered.
They say everybody is going to 17s and 18s for in stock.

I don't want a pimpmobile but I do want to be able to get common
sizes when out on the road .... I wasted a day on vacation looking for a tire on a Dodge Minivan to no avail.

Would a 17 inch be too much rim /too little profile for comfortable
street driving ? 95% street 5% offroad / no mud.

What say the experts ?

Thanks in Advance !

Don

A 17in rim with a 65 series tire would be best for a 90% street driven truck. I have 18in rim with 245 60 18 and couldnt be happier. Far from a pimp mobile, or at least the pimps say so!
