Default Question in a componet by windshield

Ok this is trivial, but what is the Small clear dome on the top side of the dash board near the windshield.? it is in the center..

Sounds like an automatic headlight dimmer sensor.

yes, it's the DRL "eye"... if you cover it, it will turn on the headlights, and interior dash lights (also dimming the head unit)
