Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
I bought this truck in January of 2010. It came in primer. I call it the Blimmy because it is a Gmc Jimmy that has a Blazer grille. I was never prepared for the craziness that I found underneath the primer including but not limited to, body panels that did not come on the truck originally, very cheap looking flame graphics, a 4 inch thick bondo job to cover a dent, the original paint covered by metallic blue paint with no clear coat, several rust spots. This was fixed however, by my uncle and I who work at a classic car restoration shop. It makes me sad when I see blazers driving around with holes that make the truck look like swiss cheese, so I thought it would be nice to fix that up. We cut out the rust, made several patches, and painted it. I am so happy with the transformation. Not bad for a girl eh?

The day I first saw the Blimmy. Long story but basically the original color was painted over in this ugly metallic blue and flame graphics, and then the guy I bought it from got it and primered the whole thing over that. Morale of the story, don't buy a truck in primer, you never know what you're dealing with until you start sanding.

After the paint! Had to make 4 patches to replace rusty areas. Bottom of both front doors, passenger side rocker panel, and passenger side quarter panel. The bottom of the drivers door was dented way back and whoever owned it previously filled in the entire dent with bondo. It was like 4 inches thick!
