Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
My 1988 S10 Blazer I call my "Billy Goat" is a 2 door and was a daily driver project vehicle I bought a few years back. Factory ride height, body moldings etc. It has a factory 4.3 V6 and the 700R4 transmission, power windows. The body is very straight and rust hole free! I bought her from a dealer that picked her up in North Carolina. She was my daily driver until the high end went out in the trans about a year ago. While I have been off of work since 08' because of a job related accident, I haven't had the extra money or the health to do much with her. She is patiently waiting for work to be done hopefully this year.
Future Modifications:
There hasn't been any mods done to this Blazer as of yet. All I've done was do the upkeep and some mechanic work on her while she was my daily driver and ONLY ride for about a year and a half until she broke down.
Future mod plans:
Trans and Engine replacement or rebuild
3" Body Lift
Torsion Key replacement 2" Lift
2" Rear Shackle Lift
33 x 12.50-15's
Trimmed fenders
Fender Flares
I have researched the lift options for this Blazer extensively. I owe the moderators and elders of this site amongst others a big "thanks" for all that they have contributed (that's mainly the reason for me joining this site).
I know for the money (cheapest route) you get more for your money with the body lifts, so I'm going with that direction. Cranking the torsion bars will destroy my front end I know. I probably won't crank them all the way up for that reason. Since the Blazer will not be my main family vehicle I'm okay with cranking up the torsion bars a little. All I'm looking for is to make room for 33"s with a 3-5" lift. I don't want or can I afford to sink a lot of money into it at first. I just want a nice little trail rider that me and the family can have some fun with. I'll leave the monster trails to the monster trucks for now. : )
I'll post some pics of the little Blazer soon. I've dreamed about doing this for way to long, I really hope I can do it this year. Thanks for reading. Read more ยป
