Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
I got a 1987 S-10 Blazer for 80$ for a project truck. It was very rusty but I still had hope of fixing her up. It had a 2.8-liter engine with 5 spd. manual transmission. I put an ad on Craigslist in the wanted section for a lift kit for an S-10. A guy emailed me saying he had a 6" lift in a S-10 Blazer and I can have the whole truck for 100$ I just had to take it by the end of the week. The only problem was it was on the other side of the state. I didn't want to pay a tow company because they're so expensive so I started to ask around. Finally got one of my friends to pull his trailer across the state to pick it up. It was a 1991 S-10 Blazer frame and drive train with a 1970 VW Bug body, ugliest thing. After I got it home I took it apart, I Sold the engine, axles, transmission, transfer case, and scrapped the rest and made my money back plus some. I took the lift kit out of the 1991; wire brushed and painted every bracket. I found a 3" body lift on craigslist for 80$. I started taking the body mount bolts out of my 1987 and about a one-foot piece of body started spinning. So I realized it was too rusty to be fixed and sadly I had to scrap it. I found my current 1988 S-10 Blazer with a 4.3 on craigslist for 1,500$. I got him down to 1,000$ and I bought it. It's a very nice truck for its age. The body had the normal rust but the frame and the drive train are perfect. So I ended up putting the lift kits in this truck. I put the upper control arms from the 2" Rough Country kit so I wouldn't have to worry about a control arm snapping. The Trailmaster shocks were shot so I bought the BDS shocks from their 5" lift. So It actually has four different lift kits in it. It's a great truck, I hope to have it for a very long time.
