Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
This is a sad and also an inspiring project. The car is completely disassembled the body bare. All the parts have been reworked, restored to better than original conditions.

This was the project of a friend and great Alfa Romeo mechanic. He tragically died at age 35 from a stroke. Nobody wanted to pick up the pieces of this project so i stepped in. I have been working on this make and models for the last 30 years and have been working a couple years on this exact model.

The car is just great to drive. An excellent poor man's sportscar. The 4 cylinder in line 2.0 l puts out 130 hp but still retains an excellent torque curve. No problem to accelerate in 5th gear into the highway from 35 to 55 miles.

I'll rebuild it in dark blue (blu olandese) the original color of this car.

I will rebuild it as close to original as possible. So this will be where my project money and time will go in the near future.

Will add pictures when they become available.

Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
Will have to look into the shift mechanism. Maybe replacing some of the joints with Unibal.

Radiator with 2 electrical ventilators. Battery capacity increased. Alternator with more output.

Suspension Modifications:
Sport shocks front and rear and rear springs. Maximum 1" lower than original.

Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Rebuilt 5 aluminium wheels from Cromodora which were at the time optional for this car. Got them back from a specialty shop looking better than new. Even found 5 new aluminium center hub covers with the Alfa Romeo sign on them.

Five new tires 185/70 R14 will be fitted once the car is ready to be driven.

Got 2 additional sets of wheels with tires. 1 Set has now 5 wheels with 4 nice winter tires 185/70 R14 and steel rims painted in grey. The second set is 205/60 R14 tires on 4 steel rims most probably 7" wide in grey as well. Pristine conditions.

Interior/Exterior Modifications:
If I can fit it adding an additional heater core and routing air for defroster into the gap between dash and window.

Daylight driving lights as LED lights.

Car stereo - GPS navigation - Bluetooth - we'll see

Future Modifications:
Finally got the body back from the south where it was to be sent to Italy to get painted. Despite the handling guy telling me that it was under cover I got to know that it was actually placed outside under a canvas. The latest pic shows what it looks now - sad. Body work was completely done and I'll have to bring it for a dip to remove all the rust. Specialized company fortunately close by but will cost me a lot of extra money.

Doors, Hoods and window lifters plus door locks removed and parts cleaned and the pars in need new surface treatments (promat yellow) done. Body is now ready for treatment against rust (strip color, acid bath) then have it primed at a specialty company close by who have baths where a car fits in one piece.

Body is at the specialist now for a bath, a wash and prime. Should be back during the next week. May update with pics. Read more ยป

The aluminium wheels after restoration. Cost a fortune but well worth it.
