Engine: Big Block 305ci V6
Trans: 3 Speed man.
Susp/ Brakes: heavy duty package.
The Bus has been in the family since originally purchased in 65. It was used to drag a trailer and my Dad literally around the country for camping and boy scouts.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
The Bus stock came with a terrible 3 speed transmission with a slider 1st gear. So got rid of that right away and put in a 3 speed fully synchronized. Also Despite the massive water pump, when towing threw a desert on any kind of grade she will over heat so my Grandpa put a pressurized water tank on the tongue of the trailer, and a line that when opened would spray water in front of the radiator. problem solved.
Switch to standard air cleaner( instead of orig. oil bath)
Alternator. ( instead of generator)
Suspension Modifications:
Add a leaf on the rear and adjustable air pressure shocks in the rear.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Aluminum American Racing Wheels and BFG At's
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Continuous mud flap on the rear to keep rocks from messing up the trailer.
Additional gas tank from a 63 nova in place of orig. spare tire.
Electric fuel pump.( For start ups when its been a while.)
Future Modifications:
Aluminum Radiator.
Electric Radiator Fans.
Gear Vendors Over Drive.
