Nope, Only if the Crank sensor is disturbed, say it gets removed and put back or unbolted, knocked hard by a tool while working in the engine bay, timing cover replaced, connector damaged, etc.
To set the crank at TDC on Compression stroke on the number 1 cylinder:
Turn the crank Clockwise (and ONLY clockwise) by hand until the timing marks on the balancer line up with the two notches on the timing cover, there are 2 marks on the balancer as well and you only really need to line up one of them. as long as its the furthest counterclockwise from the second mark, line that one up top. mark 2 will be in its position as long as the first one is, and to check if on compression stroke you are correct, just hold a finger over the number 1 spark plug hole, that will tell you if you are on compression stroke and the piston is moving up, and then line up the distributor pointer with the "6" That is stamped on a little notch inside the distributor body.
make sure the distributor is pointing at that mark after it is FULLY Seated, and engaged on the oil pump driveshaft. then button the ship up, put your plugs and wires back, if you need to know the cylinder order is 2/4/6 front to back passenger side and 1/3/5 front to back drivers side. and there are stamping on the cap to match up to.
Do an Oil change before running the engine as you mentioned you were doing the LIM gaskets.should take 4qt's 5W30 if a 4WD and i think like 5-6 if a 2WD.
thank god I was scared of the relearn lol. I tried to get as much debris off near the push rods and stuff what can I use to clean the rest that won't be sucked up?

the top of the engine should have been as thoroughly cleaned as possible before pulling the upper and lower intake off, the following is only if the inside of the engine and lifter valley got contaminated then i hope its a 2WD because the best way to clean that is to pull the oil pan and spray the valley, pan, and any exposed surfaces inside the engine all out with brake/carb clean, let it dry out and then re-oil-prime the engine, and then do another oil change after first run (dont drive it or rev it hard, just get everything circulated back to the pan)
If its just normal sludge, shop rag wet with carb clean and some elbow grease, be sure not to leave any lint, strings or catch the rag on a sharp casting marks, but you have to be thorough. if you didnt introduce anything into the engine its best to let sleeping dogs lay. if you disturb any large pieces and they flake off in operation and jam something up you'll be in for a world of trouble.

it's mostly just built up coolant sludge that fell down couldn't I just use some clean oil and clean everything down and out of the pushrod areas and that oil will drip down to the pan and I can do a oil change.?

I Can see a bit down on the crank like it's just particles nothing big went down there
get a picture if possible, i think you mean the camshaft
Aha yes the cam so I'm used to 4 bangers the v6 is new to me. I'm picking up carb cleaner and going to use a cloth and get the little particles around tomorrow. Will said carb cleaner Make it way to the oil pan ? I'm doing a oil change before starting the truck

Here is a picture I don't think it's that bad I'm focusing on the sides near the push rods right now can I spray carb cleaner and it will make it's way to the oil pan ?
ok for starters
what the hell is that nastiness in there. i hope thats not just angle+lighting.
As a sidenote, it might be better to just take the pan off if its a 2WD, but yeah it will run its way down to the pan, let it dry out for a nice long while, carb clean evaporates after a little bit so take a beer break and come back to it. button it up, oil change, prime+run, then you could leave it like that, me im paranoid about hard parts damage, so i would do another and keep the oil thats drained for the second change on hand for small parts lube.
Please describe how you cleaned the gasket surface on the heads (surface with the ports that mates to the intake manifold)?
I took off the intake manifold placed down a pillowcase in the valley scraped everything down onto the pillowcase and then carefully picked it up and shook it out also use some carb cleaner
