Access cut-out for fuel pump?
Don't be shocked, is it possible to cut a panel out to have access to the fuel pump without dropping the tank?
Has anyone done this?
I put in a new fuel pump and the car ran for one day then the next morning, it died on the way to work and will not start again.
I've really been chasing this problem.
Put in new ignition coil, distributor cap and rotor, thinking that could be the problem. Not...
After a thorough inspection under my plenum, there are no leaks at FPR or nut-kit, (even with key on).
Tried pulling the fuel filter and testing from there to tank but could not get the right fittings to hook up the fuel pressure tester. Fuel pressure at shrader valve about 50 with key on and immediatly falls to zero.
Put in new fuel filter and while the plenum is off, will probably put in a new FPR....
All I can think is that I some how installed the fuel pump wrong. I don't remember if I clamped the little rubber hose that was on the new pump.

It looks like a friend of mine and I are going to drop the tank again.
I'll take my time and make sure it's done correctly this time.
