Transmission Accelerating after 4x4
I have a 1993 S10 Blazer. I think my transmission is messed up. I turned on 4x4 Lo to get out of my apartment's parking lot which is covered with ice. I turned it off then drove to a cafe since my power was out, waited then had to turn the 4x4 back on to get out of their lot but it wouldn't shut off and the engine accelerated enough to overpower the brakes.
My brakes were very stiff and I had to literally STAND on the brakes to get it to slow down. There was one time that I had to throw it into Park to get it to stop before hitting the car in front. I managed to get the 4x4 turned off but the engine still accelerated on its own and I was forced to throw it into Park again to avoid another car. Fortunately I managed to get it home without hitting anything.
Any ideas on what happened?
