Windshield wiper linkage

Windshield wiper linkage
I am in the process of replacing the windshield wiper motor on my '91 S15 Jimmy, but I am unsure of just how the piece circled in the picture is supposed to come off. Does it just pop off using a wide blade screw driver? I would like to know for sure to avoid breaking something. Thanks for any helpful advice!

Does the square part turn?
The 1994 has a ball joint on the wiper motor arm which goes through the firewall sheetmetal as your's does. Then the plastic cap is just the opposite part to the ball joint and is pressed on.
Not sure though if the 1994 is still the same as the 1991 but in that location it would make sense.
Make sure there is no wire safety ring or something around the base which needs to be removed before.
Make sure to pry it away gently and with something making leverage all around that cap using something U-shaped and maybe fit a block of wood or something underneath to act as counterpart to the lever. Maybe a body plastic clip remover would work.
Hope it helps - and as always with these suggestions - at your own risk, no warranty, etc.
