1994 4.3 CPI to newer 4.3?
Previous owner of my 94 SLE threw a rod through the oil pan and I'm looking at replacements. It seems a lot easier to get my hands on a 1996+ V6 Vortec than the CPI version, so my question is what's it take to swap it in?

I put a 97 vortec, wiring harness and pcu in my 91 jimmy. It was worse than a nightmare but not quite hell on earth to get everything working correctly. I was very happy with it when it was done but I wouldn't go through that again for a v-6.
There are entire forums for v-8 swaps and trans dapt makes a "swap kit in a box" for the conversion. It does not come with any vehicle specific instructions but "jags that run" sells kits and an instruction book. With a name like yours I figure that would be your first choice.

I was looking into doing the 5.7 swap, I have a 350 bare block sitting on a stand in my garage needing new cam bearings, but from what I was reading it's gonna be extremely difficult to make the NP233 in my truck work with the 350/TH350 combo. So I was wanting to look into just putting a newer V6 Vortec into it and holding onto my 350 for a later build.
