1995 blazer gas gauge does not work!

Default 1995 blazer gas gauge does not work!

hello im new to the blazer forum. I just purchased my 1995 chevy blazer and had a question. the gas gauge does not work it will stay at E no matter what? i havent had time to look at it but if any one can lead me in the right direction that would be great. THANKS

im not a pro but check all fuses first...make sure everthing is good...mostly likely with that type of situation it qwould be the sending unit itself..

thanks i was thinking the sending unit as well. but im going to check any grounds and fuses first.

Check the guage. I know you can check the resistance in the guage, but I don't remember the specs. Double check the grounds like you said. The good thing is, since yours is a 95, the sending unit is available seperate from the pump. I would replace the pump since you are in there anyway, but it still will be cheaper than if it were a 96 or newer.

so your saying to pop out the gauge cluster and check the circuit board with a volt meter? it has 145k if it ends up leading me to the sending unit it will benifit from just doing it all then. and do we have to drop the tanks or is there an access panel i havent even looked?

You do have to drop the tank, or cut an access panel.I'm not sure what the resistance is supposed to be on the guage.
Mine was sticking on full for ever. Mine ended up being a loose wire at the sending unit.

id rather drop the tank. and i havent had time to look at it yet but its the weekend now so ill be able to get out there and see whats going on with it. thanks
