the vent valve soley sits by itself it has one hose coming out of it. if its a four door it sits in the front end of the gas tank.

It is a four door and the vent valve is in front of tank,I have called all parts stores they tell me they do not have a valve for the 18 gallon tank, the 19 gallon tank is what they carry and it doesn't fit mine.

I have been checking junk yards they all have plastic tanks, can I put a plastic tank on my truck?

Have you thought to go to the dealer? So many people avoid this like the plague, but when all else fails... Besides, their prices are negotiable. Haggle with them a bit.

*EDIT* Part way down pg 2 when searching for "fuel+tank+vent" is THIS THREAD which has THIS LINK...
