Default Cabin Air Filter

Hello! I have a 1996 AWD Blazer, and find that I feel sick when I turn on the heater or air conditioner.

Does this '96 model have a cabin air filter? If so, where is it located. I need to correct this as soon as possible. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I also have a 2000 Sonoma, 1/4 ton, 4.3 litre, 2WD. Does this model have a cabin air filter, and if so, where is it located?

Thanks,
Linda

I believe it is under the plastic cover that is at the bottom of your windshield. Ive never taken it off but i think only 2 screws hold it in place and maybe the windshield wipers so in that case 2 screws and 2 nuts. Should be easy to get off, but it does get all kinds of debris in there

i dont believe any of the s-10 series had cabin filters, you may be feeling sick due to mold/mildew in the air box or possibly a bad heater core... does it smell like maple syrup and fog up your windows? if so, bad heater core.

That is correct. There is no cabin air filter in an S-10 body.

Thanks for the replies. I may be allergic to my truck, and I'm actually thinking about selling it. Beautiful looking truck; purple in color. I had a re-built motor put into it 4 years ago.

Hmm I didnt know that. But air does get sucked in through that plastic cover right? Because when i turn my air on full i hear it getting sucked through the vents, and i know crap falls in there and can obviously rot. Or am i wrong and air doesnt get sucked in from there??
