Courtesy Light Fuse Blows on 97
I have a 97 Blazer and the courtesy ligts fuse keeps blowing, I have removed the lowere panels of the dash and pushed and pulled on every wire I can get my hands on and still, I have continuety to ground. Also on this circuit are the cigarette lighter (disconnected) dome lights, tailgate release and the interior light control module and the horn relay.
Any ideas?

When you say courtesy light you mean the dome lights right? In each door jamb are the plunger switches, if one has an exposed or unshielded part on th ewire it may be arching on the body, personaly I wouulduse a deep.. what 10mm socket and remove one by one and check for any potential wires shorting on the body. If they were installed correctly fron the factory, the person installing them should have twisted the wires a few times counter clockwise prioer to installing them so when they thread in the wires should uncoil relieving unnecessary tension on them, I recomend doing teh same when you reinstall them.
Well, thats how I would start anyway, tackle the easiest, least costly ways first, sometimes you get lucky

thanks for the help!
Yes, courtesy light means dome light, I have disconnected the cigarette lighters, no luck there and I have the door jamb switches disconnected, no luck there eiteher. Thanks for the list of circuits, I have the scematic for the 96 blazer which seems smilar, but not identical.
Today I am going to explore the two rear overhead lights and try to find the horn relay
I also noticed that the drivers door lock acutator does not work, the button does and the actautor on the passenger side works...................

Found the problem, it was the cargo area light.
I put a buzzer across the fuse and then with it buzzing, went around moving wires, when I pulled the panel down that houses that light, the buzzer stopped!! I rearranged the wireing and now the fuse lives!!
thanks again for the ideas
