1995 Blazer fuel pump
The wife has a 1995 Chevy S10 Blazer, and over the last 3 years I have replaced the fuel pump 3 times (just did the it the 3rd this weekend), and replaced the harness once. I have used GM fuel pumps, changed the fuel filter along with the fuel pump.
It starts to make noise (loud hum), and I've tried changing fuel filter, but the pump gets louder until it fails. I understand not to let gas get below 1/4 of a tank, and it never gets past a half of tank.
Could there be a short somewhere decreasing the life of the fuel pump? or is it somethingI have to deal with every year?
Any help would be greatful

RE: 1995 Blazer fuel pump
Have you tried thoroughly flushing the fuel tank? Alot of times in situations like yours debris has collected on the inside of the tank. Metal shavings etc. being forced up through the pump can shorten the life considerably. It's meant to pump gasoline, not metallic debris and rust. So, next time you have to do it, take it to a local radiator repair shop or someplace you know flushes gas tanks. (if you live anywhere near Bloomington, IL, Maas Radiator will do it pretty cheap) They will be able to get any and all debris out of that tank and have it back to you good as new. Other than that, sounds like you're already keeping good habits.
