I got a roll of heater hose from my local advance and hooked it to the heater core. I dumped an entire container of CLR in the heater core and left in in for about 20 minutes. Then I took one end of the hose and put it in a bucket and the other end to a water hose and ran water through it. The water that came out of the core was black. Now my heat works great.

So the flush out method only works when its clogged. But if you have a leak you have to replace. And that means dash removal.

Pulling the dash is really not all that difficult. Just need to remember where all the screws go.....and do not forget to pull the dash speakers out and the screws under the defrost vent.

It really sucks when it is below freezing and then you realize that your heat doesn't work.
