Rough idle and bad mileage. Ideas?

What about the evaporator leaking? Do you have to pull the whole dash? Or just the glove box to get to the housing to try and seal it up better?

As far as I know, on the 2nd Gens you have to pull the dash to take the heater box apart. I think, and I hope others can give more insight on this, that to remove and replace the evaporator you have to remove the right front fender and/or wheel house. I haven't done that job myself but I've spent some time recently looking at the HVAC system on my '98 Jimmy and going through the shop manual. I recall looking at something in the book that required removing the fender/wheel house to get the evaporator out.

I'll happily defer to those with more hands-on experience.
