On our way back from town last night we went the long way through a town that has the closest Chevy dealer to us 57 miles away. I noticed it was CLOSED UP tight. With a sign OUT OF BUSINESS. I was just in this dealership two weeks ago. The Ford/Toyota/Chrysler dealership in this same town just dropped the Chrysler line.
It is the sign of the times. NO CREDIT. My bank manger told me last week without at least 750 credit score forget getting a loan on anything.
I see Bill Heard has gone bankrupt. They were the Nations largest Chevy dealership.
I see GM & Chrysler are talking of a possible merger. I also hear that GM is talking to Nissan & Peugeot about a possible merger.
Is everybody here unaffected by the down turn in our nation? No job losses, or foreclosures?

I don't know anyone personally that have been foreclosed on but There is a lot of them here in southeast michigan. My moms booyfriend owns a real estate company dealing with strictly bank repos and boy some af these houses are going for 2 grand (in some of the worst parts of Detroit) but still banks are just turning these peoperties lose. My moms deals with a few inverstors from Cali and Flordia and they will buy up to 10 properties a month. Yea times are tuff! It's even hard for me to find a part time job, I have applied to many places, too many for me to remember them all and i haven't had a call back even with my mangeral skills. But as for seeing dealer ships out of business I haven't seen any. And then the talking about stopping leasing on cars will be almost impossible for people to get a new car unless you have perfect or near perfect credit.

Ya, I did read somewhere about a possible merger between gm and chrysler. But what frightened me more was gm talking with ford before chrysler about a merger... hmmm. GM, Ford, and Chrysler (dodge) should all just become the same clusterFu@! corporate whore. Maybe then they might be able to produce a vehicle that can do better than 35 mpg. We'll see I guess.
