Default Increasing torque without messing up the computer.

I have a 1993 4.3L vortec in a 1992 blazer. I would like a little more torque. I have heard that by putting an performance camshaft in would increase torque. It sounds simple but I don't know all that would be effected electronically if I did that. What different things would I need to do to make this work right?
Thanks
