Potential Transmission issue??
Ive got a 1995 Blazer LT 4door 4WD.. I pulled the drive-shaft out last night to replace the U-Joints and when i did it was leaking trans fluid from where i pulled the drive-shaft out of, is this normal, should i be getting ready to replace trans? I also checked the Trans fluid level, it seemed high, fluid was red though, no discoloration or smell of being burnt. Can someone tell me the proper method for checking trans fluid? I know that there is a procedure but cant remember what it is.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

The seal in the rear of the transmission seals against the driveshaft yoke. When you remove the driveshaft, the seal does nothing and fluid can leak out. If the front of the vehicle is higher than the rear, even more fluid will drain out.
Transmission fluid level check:
Transmission at operating temp, (usually requires 20+ miles of driving).
Vehicle on a level surface.
Engine at idle.
Transmission in park.
Remove the dip stick.
Wipe it off with a clean rag.
Reinstall the dipstick all the way into the tube.
Wait 2 to 3 seconds.
Remove the dipstick and check the level.

You're probably going to want to check fluid level in the transfer case as well since that is where the driveshaft goes on a 4wd. The seal can leak between the transmission and transfer case causing it to overfill.
