transmission problem
Ok guys. So here is my situation. I drive a 4x4 4 door 2000 chevy blazer. My transmission is having issues. Got the check engine light a while back saying something is wrong but didn't notice anything so I got it cleared (first mistake) it was the code p1870/1780. Whichever one is the transmission slip one. Well I drove it about 4 hours from greenville to raleigh and on the way back, it kept making really bad vibrations when my rpms dropped to 2000 rpms or a little higher (was running arundel 70 so running at about 2500 rpms). So I had to keep the rpms up. Eventually it went in safe mode and I lost overdrive and was at a constant 3000 rpm and had virtually no throttle from stop (perk of safe mode). Anyone have specific experience with that? I'm debating getting it fixed or getting a new car. It's got 220000 miles, engine has a rough idle and even more rough with a/c on. Alternator needs to be replaced, back brakes need to be replaced, and abs needs to be fixed. Will this just turn into a money pit or would it be good to fix the transmission if it would cost 2000+. Please reply with any info, I'm in a huge bind right now and don't know what I should do.
