Gov bombs are known to break, not always the case, sometimes you get lucky. Depends alot on how hard you are on the truck

I swapped in a complete rear axle with G80 into my 2002 blazer last summer.
It has preformed very well, mileage on onboard computer went from 15.4 - 15.8
Picked up axle at Pick N Pull for $50.00 (half price week end)

It will give you noticably more traction on and off road. It was night and day between my old blazer and the one I have now(with g80). Ran mine hard for a few years with 31s and heavy off-road use with no issues.
With that being said, people always say how weak they are, and I'm sure there is alot of truth to that when compared to a Detroit locker or other available posi or locker units.

My 04 with the original 200k miles on it works great and has gotten me out of sticky situations more than once. However, it's definitely different than having a selectable locker of full spool... I miss the e-locker I had in my 05 Tacoma; nothing beats hitting a switch, hearing a "clunk", and KNOWING the left and right wheels were locked together... The auto locking G80, although it will help when you need it, I just don't feel as confident in it, despite it working for me more than once... I'm not a fan of having to get the wheel speed up on the wheel that has no traction before it engages... But, it does work and for the most part, is reliable. Unless it's been beat on and the clutch packs are worn the hell out, then you might as well have an open diff at that point :P
