Power window slows then stops.

Power window slows then stops.
Hey folks,
I have a 2001 4DR Blazer. It has power windows. I am having a weird problem with the front driver's side window. All other windows work great.
It starts to roll down fine, but it slows to a stop part way down. I can't get it to go up or down after this.
To get it back up I can either:
a) Leave it alone for a while and let it "charge" (seriously, it will go back up if I leave it for long enough. If I don't leave it for long enough it sometimes slows to a stop on the way up)
b) Pull it up as far as I can by hand while depressing the switch - sometimes it can finish it off the rest of the way.
I searched but didn't find anyone with this particular problem. I don't mind pulling the door panel off but I was hoping someone had some ideas on what I am looking for - I don't want to just start randomly replacing parts and crossing my fingers.
