Default Help with pressing out ball joint

2001 2wd Blazer ls. Steering knuckle to off joint. Now to press it out. I have the harbor freight ball joint press. From what I've researched and the looks of it, it pressing down through the bottom to get it out even though the GM manual's pics don't really show it coming out the bottom. Now, playing with the different adapters I have, it seems like the only ones that do work, the c clamp is too small and needs to be bigger. I'm assuming one needs to surround the bottom of the ball joint without touching it and the other goes on to the top, just big enough to surround the stud and cap on it to press on. Maybe I'm over thinking it.

Basically, any suggestions are welcome and if you have pics of pressing your joints out, I'd appreciate it!

Anyone have pics of them pressing out the ball joint or care to share what adapters they use? The harbor freight one apparently does not have the right adapters is what I'm assuming. Went to o'reily's and autozone but they only have like 5 piece adapters. I was going to pick up the 14+ piece adapter set that harbor freight offers but they are out of it for a while.
