Pressing in bushings
#1
I got a question for the guys with 1st gen S10 Blazers.
I'm in the process of switching over to polyurethane bushings, and I'm on the rear leaf springs.
The bushings that go into the top of the shackle on the rear suspension are giving me a rough time. These are the ones that go through the frame.
Have any of you guys replaced these bushings? I cant seem to fit any clamp over the frame rail to press the bushing in, and ratchet straps arent strong enough. What have you guys done to press these bad boys in? Nothing is working for me.
Thanks!

Long bolt (or piece of threaded rod) and two big, thick washers. Tighten the bolt until the bushing is pressed in.

Awesome, that seemed to work. The only problem now, is the flat washer is preventing the bushing from passing all the way through, it only goes flush with the frame rail.

Get a piece of pipe that fits over the bushing and still fits the washer. That'll give you the clearance to push it through.
