Does your speedo raise up to 5 mph when you start the vehicle?
Just like the title says...(Sorry if it's answered somewhere, I can't find it.)
I have a '94 S10 Blazer with 80k miles. (An old lady before me put about 2-4000 miles a year on it)
My speedo needle rests at 0 when the engine is off. When I turn it on, the speedo lifts up and stays at about the 5mph mark. Is this normal? (I know the speedo starts at 10mph so I'm just estimating where it's at)
I'm asking because I still can't figure out why my tranny acts up and I'm thinking it might be a faulty VSS. It shifts late from 1-2 and doesn't shift at all if I'm at full throttle (it just feels like it's hitting a rev limiter until I let off the gas.) It also has a badly timed, clunky kickdown if I'm coasting in 3rd or 4th and then I step on the gas. Vacuum leak? Carbon buildup? Any help would be awesome!
