Fuel system issue ???
Hi,
I have a 94 4.3 Blazer and can not figure out what's wrong. It will turn over but won't start. I was having problems getting it to start and figured it was due to the cold because of where I live but now she is dead... Fuel pump is working fine, and hasbeen tested. Replaced fuel filter. But no gas is getting to the engine. It will start if you pour gas in the intake ( not advisable to try though) of course it dies once the gas runs out.
I've had no problems with my Blazer until now and since I love it really want to get it fixed since mud season is on the way...
Also did replace the O2 sensor last summer. And dont have access to a computer to check codes so need some advice please. I miss driving it !!!

RE: Fuel system issue ???
If the pump is working you need to get a fuel pressure gauge and hook it up to see how much pressure you have at the manifold they are finicky and wont start without proper pressure (50-60 psi) while you have the gauge hooked up watch closely to how fast the pressure drops after the fuel pump turns off.
Once you do this post the results and we can help you pinpoint it from there.
NOTE: this info is for a cpi engine im assuming that's what yours is since only 1% of 94's had tbi.

RE: Fuel system issue ???
Mine is CPI and fuel pressure is 50 psi.....

50psi even while trying to start the engine? 50psi is a bit on the low side. I have seen some motors start this low (gauge inaccuracy and all), but 55-60psi is the pressure listed in my references for both CPI and SCFI motors with a minimum pressure of 52psi.

RE: Fuel system issue ???
I am also having a similar problem. It really only happens after sitting over night or for an extend period of time (4-5 hours) that it will be hard to start. It cranks over fine but won't start. I hear the fuel pump up and click and then i turn the key and it just cranks but won't catch. after two or three tries if fires up, runs a little rough (45 seconds) and then is fine. I recently replaced the fuel spider because the pressure regualtor went bad and I am wondering if this one is on the way out as well. I have not retested the pressure but once it running its fine. When i tested the pressure it was within the range for everyhting to work.
Your opions please.
Thanks

shrike96,
You need to rerun the standard fuel pressure tests and report back with the various values. Please do so in a separate thread, since this one belongs to 'caity769'.
