If you can get an ECM for $40, try that first before you start screwing with wiring harnesses.

Here the latest news. When I originally called the yard they told me they had checked and they had one... They told me to call after the new year, thats been the delay.
I called the yard, asked him about just getting the ECM without the harness. And would get the harness later if I still needed one. They said theyd go check again, said theyd call back. Called 2 days later after no response. They told me they didn't have the right ECM for me (after they claimed to have "checked" a week before). The old man probably didn't feel like fooling with it. So, ebayed an ECM. Waiting for it. Got if for 39.99 plus 9 dollars shipping.
The truck has been sitting for about almost 2 weeks now, its costing me money. This time of the year is the reason I bought the stupid thing. The fuse is now blowing immediately following the engine "turning over", so... Hopefully I don't have to screw with the harnesses I'd rather not. Last time I tried to drive it I got 20 feet. I got out, and kicked the side in of my truck. Its actually pretty funny. The neighbor was staring at me. I suppose I can be pretty menacing when I'm frustrated.

Stick with it. You'll get it fixed. Electrical problems are always a pain to deal with.

I kicked my old '85 S10 ext 4x4 one day when working on it. My girlfriend (now wife) had just shown up and we were supposed to go on a date. I couldn't get something back together (can't remember what it was) and I slid out from under it and kicked the back bumper. I didn't even know she was there, but it probably wouldn't have changed my reaction. Well, the kick caused both front fender flares to fall off due to rust... Needless to say, I laughed so hard it wasn't even funny. That truck was so frustrating it was funny at times.

I know what you're saying. I bought the blazer for a beater, under the pretense of having no "feelings" for it whatsoever, but the stupid thing has kinda grown on me. I've had quite a bit of fun with it, even though its technically supposed to be used for "work". Well, looks like I'm going to have to do the harnesses. ECM-B is still blowing, even with the new brain. [:@]
