1989 Jimmy 4x4 Emergency Brake light Flashing?
It has a 4.3L in it.My brake light just started flashing today. It flashes 9 times in a row then a pause then 9 times again and just keeps doing that over and over.Anyone have any ideas??Thanx
my 91 fullsize chevy does that. the shop said it is something wrong with the abs brakes. My truck has abs in the rear only and when the light flashes in just turns off abs. Im leaving it how it is because i cant stand abs anyways.
Mine did something like that for awhile. Then I reset the Codes and it went away
. I have my Hayne's manual here, I think it applies to your vehicle as well. Here's the way to clear your codes...
According to the manual....If you have the RWAL system (rear wheel anti-lock) that code says there's an open in the speed sensor circuit or faulty speedometer.
If you have the 4WAL system....That code doesnt exist...lol
But anyways, to clear the codes on the RWAL, remove the brake fuse for 5 secs and then reinstall it.
For the 4WAL...it's a bit more complicated....if you find that that's what you have...Post back and i'll post up the procedure. otherwise, I don't really want to have to re-write that whole thing. hope this helps, and I got this right out of the manual.
