Default 1990 Blazer differential compatibility

I have a 1990 Blazer with a Dana 12 bolt rear. I want to install a complete rear diff with disc brakes and equally strong gears from a newer truck at the wreckers. Can anyone tell me where I can find a list of what will bolt on to my 1990 or with the least amount of conversion work. Thanks

It's 4wd. It originally had a 10 bolt I think but the previous owner switched it to a 12 bolt from an earlier model.

You can get a rear diff out of a second gen that has disc brakes. If you google that you will find a lot of info about it.
You will obviously need to make sure it matches your current gear ratio.

Just make sure you do not get a rear diff out of a zr2 as they are wider.

Ironically, I have a 1998 ZR2 and discovered the size difference on a hunch but forgot to consider the special aspects of the ZR2. This is good news because the one thing there isn't a shortage of around here are 2nd gen Blazers. Also, thanks for the heads up about the ratio and this timely response to my request for assistance.
