Unhappy 1990 S-10 blazer wont start

hello all, I have a 1990 S-10 Blazer 4.3 4x4. the fuel pump died and i was able to coast into a marathon gas/repair shop, they told me it was 850 to change the fuel and sending unit. I picked it up on a tow dolly and got it home and changed the fuel pump, sending unit and relay. Now the relay clicks and fuel squirts into the carb/intake but it wont start. check wires and replaced both plugs and wires, still not starting. Im gonna change the cap and rotor and if that doesnt do it, im am stumped. any idea why it wont run when all that was wong was the FP and it was replaced and still no run?

any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Charles

I would pour a small amount of gas directly in the TBI to see if it starts. If it does not start I would than check for spark. A timing light hooked up to any plug wire and have someone crank. If the timing light does not light I would hook it to the coil wire to check for spark. It could be that the coil died. If you have fuel and spark than I would check to make sure that distributer hold down bolt is not loose and that the timing is not off. It is going to be one of three things: Fuel, Spark or timing. Are you sure that the diagnosis of the fuel pump as the problem was correct?

Default not exactly

not exactly, the repair shop guy said that no fuel was squirting out at the tbi, I checked as well barely dripping, also no hum at tank. I replaced with a bosch pump and got fuel at TBI(a fair amount to). I also checked for spark and had it, But it looked alittle weak so I changed plugs and wires(wires were burnt and splitting) cleaned the cap and rotor(very dirty) still nothing. if it was running before pump went it should atleast sorta wanna start, but nothing not a pop or grumble. Does this sound like a coil? thanks for the reply. Charles

I would replace the fuel filter at this point as well.
