Default 1992 Jimmy digital dash

Driving home from work today, the digital dash in my jimmy went out. It still shows the speed and the odometer, and the redline mark on the tach, but all the other gauges are completely black.

Where should I start?

There is a guy on the internet I corresponded with a few years back.I think his name was Mr.Wizzard.From the symptoms you describe I'd say the power converter went out on the mother board.Really not that big of deal.I think you can replace it your self for less than $100.00.I think you can also find information on ebay under instrument cluster repair or simply do a search.
Hope this helps.

Do a Forum search on here for Digital Dash and you'll find a few other posts about solutions. There's a guy that a few members have dealt with that sent them a re-built dash for about $125.

The dash's are known for crapping out.

Does anyone have schematics or the like? For $125, it's almost worth it for me to go in with a multimeter and check to see what's drifted out of tolerance.

Hello.
I have 2 of these clusters. One was in a GMC 4x4 and was malfunctioning.
Then I bought a 2wd that has a good functioning cluster.Like I said before I made contact with the other gentleman about my problem and we decided it was most likely the converter box.Out of curiosity I then removed both cluster's then installed it into the ill one.WOW it was healed.I figured the mileage would have been different but like a normal pc the information was stored on the mother board,so no change there.Put it back in the original cluster and it still works today.
