I just joined because I am having some problems with what seems like the same thing that everyone else is: the digital dash. I used to be able to push up on the bottom of the dash next to the parking brake release. I could get the speedometer and odometer to work that way only so I assumed there could be a short or a bad ground. I dont think the dash itself is bad because I can get it to work sometimes. So anyways I pulled the dash out and didn't find anything visible wrong. After I put it all back together the only way to get the speedometer and odometer is to bang on top of the dash. I have the dash out right now and completely disassembled but I do not see anything weak, broken, discolored, or anything else visibly wrong. Can anyone help me? All the other gauges work fine. The only problems I have are from the speedometer and odometer. Please help. Thanks.

just try to reconnect everything back up snug and watch when putting it back because sometimes when putting it in you may have to move it different angles, and check the connectors for lose wires in them

Try running a separate ground strap or two.

Also I kinda tried the "cereal box solution" where you use some cardboard shims between the circuit boards. I think that I have made it a little better, but I am not sure exactly where to put the shims. I placed four small strips between the white plastic "frame" and the blue circuit board. Somebody please let me know exactly where to put them...do they actually go behind the other circuit board or what? I am gonna experiment a little and see if I can figure it out on my own. Any help would be appreciated though...Thanks!!!

DIGITAL DASH FIXED!!!
Hey Everybody I finally fixed my speedometer and odometer! I used just a little more cardboard and VOILA!!! So if anybody needs some help just ask and I can walk you through what I did. Maybe it'll work for you and maybe it won't, but its worth a shot!!! Its amazing how you feel after you've been fighting something for a while and you finally win!!!
