Default 1993 blazer s10 A/C issues

I have a 1993 s10 blazer with a/c that has never worked.... Fiance is 6.5 months pregnant and it is time to now fix it (for my sake too )

Steps i have taken so far:

1) Purchase ez chill 134a conversion "kit" from autozone.

2) checked pressure on the low side (ZERO psi) and let the truck run with the ac on high.

3)CLutch not kicking on in compressor, so i added 1/2 of a can (kit came with three). I did this after setting the ambient temp dial on the guage to 90 degrees F. The guage started to go into the red/overfill zone so i backed off.

4) then tested to make sure i had power at the compressor. No power!

Where is the fuse for the compressor? (nothing simply labeled ac under dash)

What are other cheap possibilities that could provide a fix for our issue.

THank you for your time,

John

After becoming less frustrated after typing this ^^^ post, i was able to simply locate the fuse clearly labled "heater ac" under the dash. After pulling it, this cut everything. So the hot/warm air that the ac was blowing now stopped.

This is not the issue because it cut everything, not just power to the compressor.

What feeds the compressor?

there is a a/c relay on the firewall somewhere. pretty sure its labed, my 93 is a offroad truck and i remember using that relay for something else so that could be bad or you could possibly have a bad control head making it not work. you can try running direct power to the a/c compressor to see if itll blow cold air. i got mine rigged on a toggle cause i converted it to a air pump to fill tires or whatever

check your low pressure switch on the evaporator/drier tank. there should be two wires on it. with the truck running and a/c on it should have power going through both of them. if only through one then the switch isnt working, so either its bad or theres not enough pressure.

+1, also the dryer should be changed aswell if you want the conversion to work for any amount of time. The oil in an r12 system is not compatible with the oil in an r134a system.

Never changed the drier in mine...45 degrees out the vents on a 95 degree day.

You can get freeze 12 from amazon which is synthetic replacement for R12. I added a can to my 92 blazer last week. I was told to use freeze 12 if possible because it is more efficient than the new r13.
