Oh, I didnt even think about that. So you would have to put a solid axle in it. IMO not really worth it unless your turning it into a trail truck.

Most guys (even over there) don't do their swaps in a weekend. It takes longer than that to get the steering and brake stuff lined out. Even if you know what you are doing with a SAS swap you take your time cause you are putting your life and the life of others in danger if something goes wrong cause it was a rushed job.

Smile 2wd to 4wd conversion

as you were saying about having two blazers, I do have two of them an 85 2wd that i did a v8 conversion on and an 88 4wd with the 4.3L. as for the frames they are the same, the front suspension is what's different but it would be a lot better to just buy a 4wd it's not worth the money and time/trouble to convert from one to the other.

I guess I didn't make the distinction in this thread like I have in others on this very topic. While the outer frame rails may be the same, the "frame" as one unit is not the same. If it were, you could swap over all of the (2 or 4)wd stuff to make it suit your needs. If it requires cutting/welding to swap brackets over, then the frames are different. Just want to be clear on the terminology. We do agree on the fact that it is more trouble than it is worth to convert. I think that is pretty universal.

yes, this is true, like i said the front suspension is different and you would have to cut and modify the brackets on the frame to do this conversion. I was not trying to say you were completely wrong on this, just that to the naked eye the frames are the same. But as you mentioned there would be a lot of cutting/welding invalved, good checking up on me though. I should have been more clear on my earlier post.
