Default 4.3 question some HELP

OKAY MY QUESTION IS

If I buy a 4.3 that is not the vortec and I pull the heads off and put my heads and intake will it work and all the wiring still plug back in???

I have a 1994 4.3 vortec 4wd GMC Jimmy


someone please help I've killed my truck and want her spinning them
33's as soon as possible

Should work, the only real difference is the heads and battleship - all the cooing ducts will line up, and the blocks should be identical. However, you should investigate whether the distributor holes and locations are the same in order for your intake to go on. Give it half of sunday and you will have a few more opinions.

i'll get the jimmy back on the road
with either a 4.3 or a 350
basically which ever is cheaper cuz i;m so poor
hence 1994 but i love her
i use to be a ford guy till i worked on this GM
never going back
waiting for more input

whats a battleship??

the big difference aside from the intake between the tbi model and the vortec is that the vortec uses a balancer shaft.

Another thing to take into consideration is that a lot of states have rules relating to emissions, such that if you put a different engine in your truck you may have to find one from a same-year or newer vehicle. Or you might be breaking some laws. Up to you.
