4.3L S10 Blazer Trouble starting when warm
I have 1992 S10 blazer, starts fine, after driving it for 20 minutes or so i turn it off and if I try to start it after it sit for 20 minutes or so it has trouble starting, and a rich smell can be smelt outside the vehicle. I turn the key and hav to keep it turned for up to 10 seconds til it starts and shortly after it stalls immediately. I repeat this process for a minute or two then it will finally run fine.. Why? Motor has 15,000km on it, Ditributor and ignition is 2 months old, fuel pump maybe a year old, new fuel filter less then 5,000km new air filter so whats left? The computer? id there an electric choke?

Sounds like a temp. sensor right by the thermostat housing(does not control gauge just computer). Could be just unhooked or crapped out. It thinks its a cold start on ever start flooding the engine.

My digital dash guages crapped out a while back and I had guages installed on the dash so the original water temperature guage was unplugged, is this the temperature guage u r refering to?

The temperature here is -18 celcius and when I started my truck in the morning without the block heater plugged in the truck idled immediately like it was warm but if I turn off the truck for 3 minutes to fill it up with gas it starts up with a super high idle..

No the one that controls the temp gauge is on the driver side of the block. The one on the thermostat housing controls the ECM.
