had a similar problem with my 94 ended up being a bad neutral safety switch.

yesterday i put a old tccm from a junk yard pretty rusty and dont really know it it works but when i plugged it in unhooked the battery and the fired it up the 4x4 did the same thing as before no change the tccm was defiantly clicking but still wouldn't take it out of 4hi but the hubs would still unlock but the transfer case wouldn't and the 4lo would still just flash for bout 30 seconds and then pop back into 4hi so idk what the hell it its and also when i put the transfer case motor on (encoder motor) the only way it would go on was when the transfer case was in 4hi so is that right or shouldn't the new motor be in the 2wd position? i thought it was spose to, please help getting sick of the freaking electronic 4wd crap. and where and what is the Neutral Safety Switch? as the previous post stated.

oh and when i press the 4hi button in any gear it will unlock the hubs and show on the switch it is in 2wd but yet the driveshaft turns when u role the truck in drive and you cant turn it in park or in drive with the parking brake on haha, and the hubs are in the unlocked position.

I have found that often it just doesn't pay to use junkyard parts. You really have to know that the part you are putting in is functioning properly to begin with for it to be a worthwhile diagnostic step.

If you recently had things disconnected, it may not have set any other code besides the one that states that things were recently disconnected.

well each time i tested the codes i unpluged the battery for about a minute, and does that new motor out of the box shouldn't it be in the 2wd position? because the motor would only go on if the transfer case was in the 4hi position so, got any ideas

Don't unplug the battery if you want to have codes that mean something.

Nothing says that the motors should be in 2HI out of the box.

u have any idea what it would be cuz this is the second brand new motor that is doin the same thing so idk the transfer case is a 233c and the part they gave me is a Dorman 600-900 is that the right part for that. and i think it might be the tccm but it worked in 4lo before i had the new motor put on so idk freakin know at all. the part number on the old one is 54-20016 i guess. update i got another tccm from a junk yard that they say it works, gonna put it on tomarrow i would buy a new one but they have to special order it and costs $179.
