Default 4x4 Switch

1994 s10 blazer, switch lights up upon start up. When I press the switch nothing happens. No lights no clicking, no noise. Is it a bad switch? I've tried resetting the tccm by pulling out the fuse.

Have you pulled the 4x4 trouble codes? If you don't know how, search the forum to find directions. Off the top of my head I think you ground pins A and J on the ALDL and count the flashes. There are only four trouble codes so it's easy to count them.

i doubt its the switch but its a possibility. but if theres no clicking then it might be the tccm is bad. or you got a short somewhere. try unhooking the battery for 30min to completly discharge the capacitors in the tccm and computer. then hook it up and see what happens.

I get code 2. I had problems with my encoder motor but the switch would always work. I ordered a new switch and im going to clean the contacts on the tccm.

Installed the new rocker switch today. The lights still self test when you turn the key on, but nothing happens when you hit the switch. No noise or anything from the TCCM or motor.

its deffiantly the TCCM. its like a advanced relay. if you cant hear a click from the glove box and your switch lights up then its the TCCM. just get a used one.

check this out. code 4 is TCCM http://www.s10extremist.org/tech_art...ctronic4x4.htm
