will the 5 speed 2.8 tranny with the bellhousing to bolt up hold up to the power of a 350 or do i need one from a 4.3?

The 2.8 has a totally different bellhousing than the 4.3 & V8's.The 2.8 is a 60 degree V6.The 4.3 & V8's are 90 degree.It won't work.

To answer your original question. Should be a matter of motor mounts, tranny mount, exhaust pipes, and puter. Teh 4.3L radiaotr willwork provided both engines are serp set-ups (verify the input and outputs of the rad matches the water pump). Swap the puter and wiring harness.

Your t-case should bolt up to the back of the tranny just fine. The only difference between the 2.8L 700R4 and the 4.3L 700R4 is the bolt patern on the bellhousing. You can take the inernals out of either and swap them into th other one. They are identical except for the case.
